Finishing a Project
You should always finish a project in Costlocker after it's completed.
What Happens When I Finish a Project?
The project will no longer be searchable in time tracking
Users can no longer log time or edit previous time entries on it
The project will be fully billed
The project will have complete reporting, and you can always revisit it through the Finished Projects section
After finishing a project, you can reopen it at any time and make any changes you need.
How to Finish a Project
You can easily finish a project by clicking the Finish Project button in the project detail.
After clicking Finish Project, a confirmation dialog will appear.
This dialog informs us that we haven't fully billed the project yet. As seen in the Project Overview, we've only billed $ 2,000 so far. Costlocker wants us to confirm the remaining amount.
A project must always be fully billed before it can be finished.
We have two options:
1. Keep the Project Open
In this case, nothing happens; we manually adjust the Project Billing to ensure the total project revenue is billed, and then we finish the project.
2. Let Costlocker Bill the Project for Us
In this case, by clicking the OK, Agree button, the following changes will occur:
All bills in this project will be marked as Billed
The remaining amount that wasn't billed will be billed with today's date
The project will be marked as finished
If you use the automatic project billing option, we recommend checking the project's Billing afterward to ensure everything was billed as you intended. If not, you can Reopen the Project and adjust the billing as needed.
