Why it’s handy to duplicate projects
- Duplicating existing projects saves a lot of time.
- If you create lots of similar projects, it’s helpful to make a template project.
- It’s the ideal solution for internal projects, where the name is the only difference – everything else stays the same.
How to duplicate an existing project
Start by selecting Projects in the top bar, then click the Add a new Project button.
In the first step of creating a project, you’ll see a yellow bar with a Duplicate project button.
Click the button and select the project you want to duplicate in the pop-up window.
As soon as you select the project to be duplicated, it’s possible to select which parts of the projects will be copied. The default values include everything except discounts.
Once the project is duplicated, you’ll have to edit the name of the project, as well as the start and end dates of the project. The project ID, as well as the client can be changed too.
That’s it, everything else will reflect the settings of the project being duplicated.
How to duplicate RECURRING projects
RECURRING projects can be duplicated the same way. The only thing you need to do is to select the RECURRING option before clicking the Duplicate Project button. The rest of the process is identical to duplicating STANDARD projects.
